The simple rule
LooksLadder may use a strictly necessary session cookie to sign you in, secure the account and retain essential steps in an action you request. This session cookie is exempt from consent under Article 82 of the French Data Protection Act.
Every audience measurement tracker remains blocked until your prior consent. Legitimate interest does not replace prior consent and does not remove the duty to obtain it for that tracker.
Without your consent, LooksLadder only measures pages viewed and a few steps of the journey, without reading or storing anything on your device: this measurement uses no tracker.
1. What is a tracker?
A tracker is information read from or stored on your device when you use a website. It may be a cookie, local-storage item or equivalent technology.
2. Trackers used or planned
| Category | Name and provider | Purpose | Duration | Consent |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Session and security | “s” (session cookie) and “looksladder.jeton” (local storage), set by LooksLadder | Authenticate the account, prevent unauthorised access and complete the requested action. | 90 days | No, strictly necessary. |
| Return after payment | “ll-achat-verdict” (session storage), set by LooksLadder | Return to the screen where the purchase started, after the Stripe checkout. | For the life of the tab. | No, strictly necessary for the requested action. |
| Preferences | “looksladder.langue” and “looksladder.onboarding” (local storage), set by LooksLadder | Remember the language you chose and your answers to the welcome questions, to adapt the screens. | Until erased by the person: local storage does not expire on its own. | No, necessary for the requested function. |
| Privacy choice | “ll.consentement” (local storage), set by LooksLadder | Remember your answer to the banner and the version of the question asked. | Until you change your mind. "Allow" is asked again if what the banner asks changes. | No, necessary to respect your choice. |
| Local age control | “looksladder.appareil” (local storage), set by LooksLadder | Remember that access was refused on this device and prevent immediate bypass. | 12 months | No, strictly necessary to protect children and provide the requested function. |
| Audience measurement, without your consent | PostHog, data hosted in the European Union. No tracker is set. | Count pages viewed and a few steps of the journey, to find the screens that block people. | Nothing is kept on the device. Measurement data: one year at most. | No: nothing is read from or stored on your device. A visitor is counted by a code PostHog computes on its servers from the IP address, the browser and a key changed every day; this code cannot recognise them from one day to the next, and the IP address is not kept. |
| Audience measurement, with your consent | PostHog: “ph_…_posthog” cookie and local storage, set for LooksLadder | Recognise the same visitor from one visit to the next and record the journey on screen, with photos, images, video and everything you type masked. | Cookie: twelve months. Journey recordings: 30 days at most. Measurement data: one year at most. | Yes: only after "Allow" in the banner. |
| Creator attribution | “ll.provenance” (local storage), set by LooksLadder | Remember the link of the creator who brought you (and the link markers), so they can be paid if you create an account later. | 60 days, then deleted automatically. Also deleted if you refuse, withdraw your consent or log out. | Yes: set only after "Allow". Without consent, the link only counts during the same visit, and typing the code at sign-up remains possible. |
If no measurement tool appears in this table, no measurement tracker may be enabled. A new purpose or provider requires an update to this page and, where required, a new consent choice.
3. Accept, reject or change your mind
The banner offers two equally visible choices: "No thanks" and "Allow". Refusing does not prevent use of the app.
Silence, scrolling or continued browsing does not mean consent. Your answer is kept on this device until you change it. "Allow" is asked again if what the banner asks changes; a refusal is not asked again.
You can review your choice as easily as you gave it, from Profile > Review my cookie choice: the banner is asked again right away. Withdrawal prevents future reading and storage and requests deletion of optional trackers already stored, subject to browser limitations.
